Taking a Pause From Facebook

I deleted my Facebook app on my phone and iPad today. I did it because of the elections. It consumed way too much of my time and it started to stress me out.  I am so disillusioned by the comments, the racism, the misogyny, the anger and the self-righteousness. I feel that participating in social media has only divided our nation more. That’s not why I signed onto social media in the first place. It used to be a happy place for me to go to see all your beautiful children,  your fun vacation spots, your holiday  and life celebrations. That is no longer the case, so I need to take a break.

I’m not sure how long my break from Facebook will be. They say that time heals all wounds. It’s going to take some time for me to feel healed, but I don’t want to turn into that ugly, self-righteous person that I’ve witnessed on my own Facebook newsfeed.

So, goodbye for now Facebook. Perhaps we’ll meet up again once things settle down and my wounds are healed.
